Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) refers to a group of modern surgical procedures designed to lower eye pressure (intraocular pressure or IOP) while minimising tissue disruption and recovery time. What is the Hydrus Microstent?

The Hydrus Microstent is a tiny flexible titanium implant placed within Schlemm’s canal, one of the eye’s natural drainage pathways. It acts as a scaffold to hold the drainage channel open and improve fluid outflow from the eye.

The procedure is typically performed during cataract surgery through the same small incision used for cataract removal.

What is the OMNI Procedure?

Unlike stent-based MIGS procedures, the OMNI Surgical System is an implant-free treatment that combines two techniques:

Canaloplasty – widening and restoring the natural drainage canal (Schlemm’s canal)

Trabeculotomy – opening the trabecular meshwork to improve fluid outflow

Together, these procedures target multiple areas of resistance within the eye’s drainage system.
